These are the terms for using Sentacle. By playing, you agree to them.
Sentacle is offered free of charge, as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted, that games will always be reachable, or that the grammar checks will agree with you.
They will sometimes not agree with you. Judging whether a sentence is well-formed and meaningful is a judgment call made partly by software, and it gets things wrong in both directions. We want to keep improving, so if you see something that looks off, please let us know.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of Sentacle.
By using Sentacle, you agree not to:
A game link is a secret that controls a seat. Do not use a link that was not given to you.
There is no version of this game in which slurs, sexual content, threats, or abuse aimed at another player are acceptable. We don't wait for a pattern: one upheld report is enough for us to act. Slurs on our list can't be played at all.
Every play made by another player carries a report action: tap the word on the board and you have the option to report it or block the player who played it. The More menu in a game reports or blocks a player directly, with or without an account. A report does not pause or change the game, and the player reported is not told. Every report is reviewed by a person and acted on within 24 hours. If a report is upheld, we may remove the game it came from for everyone in it and suspend or ban the player responsible, depending on severity. A banned player cannot start or join another game.
Removal and bans are at our discretion, with or without notice, and there is no formal appeal process. If you believe we got it wrong, write to support@sentacle.app. Nothing in this section limits anything in the section below.
You keep whatever rights you have in the sentences you write. You give us permission to store them and show them to the other players in your game, and to anyone watching the game through its link, which is simply what it takes to run the game.
We may remove content and suspend or terminate access, with or without notice, when we believe someone is abusing the service or other players. We will use our judgment, and if you think we got it wrong, write to us.
Games do not wait forever. If the player whose turn it is doesn't move for 7 days, they count as having resigned. With 2 players the game ends and the other player wins; with more, the rest play on. A game in which nobody ever moved, or that is still waiting for a player to join, ends with no winner. If reminders are on for that game, the player whose turn it is gets a warning email up to 2 days before. Any move resets the clock.
We may also end or delete games and may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of Sentacle, at any time. Nothing here is a promise that a particular game or the service itself will exist indefinitely.
Accounts are optional and free, and are for players 13 and older. You are responsible for the email address you sign in with and for the game links you hold. You can delete your account at any time: see the Privacy Policy for how.
We may revise these terms. When we do, we will update this page and the effective date at the top. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the revised terms. This version is effective October 5, 2026.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If some part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
